That hot tub seemed like a great idea once. Now it’s a 700-pound planter collecting rainwater on your deck. Getting rid of one is genuinely hard — they don’t fit through gates, they weigh as much as a small car, and the dump won’t take them whole. That’s exactly the kind of job we’re built for.

All Oregon Junk Removal removes hot tubs, swim spas, and jacuzzis across the Portland metro and Salem — including the awkward ones on decks, behind fences, and down hillsides. We’re a family-owned Tigard company with the trailers and the saws to make a half-ton spa disappear without wrecking your yard on the way out.

How We Remove a Hot Tub

Step 1 — Disconnect check.
Power and water must be disconnected first. Plug-in tubs just need unplugging; hardwired tubs need a licensed electrician at the breaker — we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed when we quote from your photos.
Step 2 — Cut-down.
Most tubs can’t leave a backyard in one piece. We section the shell and cabinet with saws — fast, controlled, and cleaned up as we go.
Step 3 — Haul-out.
We carry the sections out without wrecking your gate, deck, or lawn — surfaces along the exit path are protected.
Step 4 — Recycle.
The metal frame, pumps, heater, and plumbing metals get recycled instead of landfilled — and recycling earns a discount on the job.
Step 5 — Site cleanup.
We sweep the pad. You get your patio back the same day.

What Hot Tub Removal Costs

A small, drained hot tub runs $540–$720 to remove — cut-down, haul-out, recycling, and pad sweep included, with no surprise add-ons at the curb. Larger tubs, swim spas, and jobs that include deck or enclosure work are quoted individually from your photos; every quote is free and firm before we start.

Some companies advertise low teaser rates that assume a driveway-accessible, pre-cut tub. Our number is the whole job. See the full pricing page for every rate we charge.

Hot Tub Removal FAQ

Do I need to drain the hot tub first?
Ideally yes — it saves time and weight. If it won’t drain (dead pump, no hose access), tell us; we can handle draining for a small added cost.

Does the power need to be disconnected?
Yes. Plug-in (110v) tubs just need unplugging. Hardwired (220v) tubs must be disconnected at the breaker by a licensed electrician before removal — we’ll confirm which type you have from your photos.

Will you damage my deck or yard?
No — cutting the tub into sections is precisely how we avoid dragging half a ton across your lawn. We protect surfaces along the exit path and clean up completely.

Can you remove the deck section or gazebo too?
Yes — light demolition is one of our core services. Send photos of the whole setup and we’ll quote it as one job with one price.

What happens to the old tub?
Shell sections are disposed of properly; the frame, motor, heater, and plumbing metals are recycled. Recyclable weight earns you a discount on the job.

How long does it take?
Most removals take 60–90 minutes from the first cut to the swept pad.
