The most common question we get — by text, by phone, at the curb — is “what’s this going to cost me?” Fair question. Most junk removal websites dodge it with “call for a quote.” We’re a local, family-owned company, so here are our real numbers.

The short version: real 2026 prices

Job size Price Notes
Single item $125 minimum pickup fee One couch, mattress, or fridge
Small load $200–$500 6×12 trailer, up to 4,000 lbs
Medium load $500–$800 Double-axle dump trailer, up to 8,000 lbs
Large load $800–$1,000 7×14 trailer, up to 12,000 lbs
Multiple loads Quoted per job Estate cleanouts, hoarding cleanup

Every job gets a firm price before we touch anything, and the estimate is free — text photos to (503) 455-7920 and you’ll usually have a number within the hour.

Common single items (real prices)

$125 minimum pickup fee applies, with multi-item discounts when we grab several single items in one trip (up to 5 items).

What actually changes the price

1. Volume. Junk removal is priced by how much space your stuff takes in the trailer. More volume, more cost — simple.

2. Weight. Concrete, dirt, and roofing are priced differently than furniture because transfer stations charge us by the ton.

3. Access. A curbside couch takes ten minutes. A couch in a third-floor walk-up takes a crew and half an hour. Stairs and tight spaces add labor time.

4. Special items. Hot tubs, pianos, and safes need cutting, extra crew, or special handling — they’re quoted individually.

How to LOWER your price

We discount for items we can donate or recycle. Usable furniture and working appliances go to local charities — and your bill drops for every donate-able item. It keeps good stuff out of the landfill and money in your pocket.

DIY vs. hiring it out: the honest math

Could you haul it yourself? Sure. Here’s what that involves in the Portland metro: truck rental (~$20–40 plus mileage), the $51 transfer station minimum for garbage loads (Metro’s new rate as of July 1, 2026), the line at the dump, and your Saturday. For a single carload, DIY often wins. For anything bigger, professional removal usually costs less than people expect once the rental, dump fees, and lost weekend are counted — and we do all the lifting.
